March 2014.'
With a lovely sunny spring day outside, we enjoyed the light and airy atmosphere of Burley Memorial Hall as we progressed our many projects, all at a variety of stages........
January 2014
Another delightful day with a variety of work in progress.......
......a magnificent lunch...... 160g wholemeal bread flour
340g strong white bread flour 0.75 teasp salt 1 tablesp melted butter 360ml water 1 teasp honey 2 good handfuls of broken walnuts 15g fresh yeast |
....and for those who asked for the recipe for the walnut bread...
Put yeast in some of the water to produce watery paste. Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well (by hand or mixer) to produce a sticky dough. Turn into oiled bowl with enough room to triple in size and cover with oiled cling film. Place in fridge for 24 hours.
Knock back dough and turn edges into the centre a few times. Turn into oiled baking tin and push dough well into the corners. Cut slits and leave at room temp until doubled in size. Paint with milk or melted butter.Bake at 210 °C until done (30 to 40 minutes) |
