Lis Binns Wonderfil talk ( via Zoom)
Lis' talk started by telling us what is meant by some of the technical terms about thread: thread weight, tex, mercerisation, gassing, and long- staple cotton.
She then de-bunked some myths by showing us that we don't have to have the same thread top and bottom on our machines, we can use different thicknesses of thread when doing machine embroidery, not all polyester thread will cut through our fabric, and how to deal with difficult threads like metallics.
The talk finished by going over some of the 36 lines of thread that Wonderfil make: polyesters, cottons, rayons and metallics, plus glow-in-the-dark, and flash!
If you want further information or missed the talk, you can visit the website (www.wonderfil.co.uk) or contact Lis on 07986 996090 or email her at lis.uk@wonderfil.net.
