Workshops 2014

September 2014 - Richard Box

Picture
We have all been looking forward to this workshop and it did not disappoint!

We spent a lovely day stitching poppies under Richard's guidance and although we all followed the same "pattern" our results were quite different.

A big thank you to Richard for a fun day!

May 2014 - Maryke Phillips

Having been introduced to Maryke's fabulous stitch books at our Wednesday evening meeting, we were able to have a go at making one ourselves in the Thursday workshop. What a fun and truly liberating day!

We learned how to make the basic stitch book, how to create patterns to stitch with stamps and rubbing plates and then we explored all sorts of ideas for decoration with embroidery stitches, threads, ribbons and lace not to mention beads, buttons and findings.
We were having such a good time, we found it hard to stop for lunch, but eventually the aroma of Jacky's wonderful soup encouraged us to take a break.

Well fed and refreshed we returned to our stitching with renewed enthusiasm and energy.
A great day with some exciting results.  Thank you Maryke!

March 2014 - Linda Barlow

Following an inspirational evening meeting where Linda shared some of the highlights of her artistic journey, we enjoyed a full day workshop learning to create figures with oil pastels, toothbrushes, stitching and toned fabrics.

We all brought food to share and lunch turned into a sumptuous feast!
